I am currently carrying out a joint PhD at University of Genoa (UNIGE), Italy, Portland State University (PSU), USA and University Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Spain under the European Commission EACEA funded Erasmus Mundus Program. My research area is Green Networking (including low-power Internet devices and protocols) with particular focus on "Energy-Aware Home Networking" which is a part of European Commission project called ECONET (low Energy COnsumption NETworks). I have also carried out research activities under the project Future InterNet Energy Efficiency (FINE2): A major project co-funded under the Protocol of Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation between Italy and United States of America which was funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Under FINE2 project, I carried out my Ph.D research activities at Portland State University in United States. My Ph.D research activities primarily focus on the smart proxying schemes for reducing the network energy waste.
I obtained my master degree in "Satellite Navigation and Related Applications" from Politecnico Di Torino, Italy in September 2010. My master program was funded by NavSAS Research Unit of Istituto Superiore Mario Boella (ISMB) where I also carried out Internship after graduation. I also completed my master thesis at ISMB on "Design and Implementation of Hybrid Tracking Algorithms and Inertial Data Fusion using wireless sensor networks to obtain high accuracy positioning system" in the framework of the European Commission funded FP7 project NEWCOM++(Network of Excellence in Wireless COMmunications). I completed my B.Sc in Electrical Communication Engineering from NWFP University of Engineering and Technology (UET Peshawar) in September 2009. My B.Sc thesis focused on the design and evaluation of an efficient network monitoring and management system. This work was funded by NWFP University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar, Pakistan for improving its network monitoring and management system.
My primary research interest are in Ad Hoc Networks, Self Organizing Networks and Green Networking.
